(Agony in the Garden)

The Gospel relates how our Lord Jesus left the Upper Room, where He had celebrated the Last Supper with His Apostles, and made the long walk that Thursday night to the Garden of Gethsemane. This window illustrates the First Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary.

As Man's Fall began in a garden, so would Man's Redemption, as our Savior said to His Apostles, "My soul is sorrowful...even unto death. Stay here and watch with Me." Going about a stone's throw away, He began to be exceedingly troubled and filled with anguish, He prayed, "Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass Me by, but not as I will, but as You will." An Angel is sent from His Heavenly Father to console and strengthen Him in the bloody sweat of His Sacred Humanity crushed as it is under the weight of humanity's sins. He suffers alone and is soon to be abandoned by all.
