Pastor: Fr Kevin Doyle Fr. Kevin Doyle is a native of Colorado. However, remotely speaking, he is in reality a Dakotan. His great grandfather was the first to homestead in the newly opened Sioux Territory near Pukwana, SD. His grandfather was raised in Kimball, SD, and grandmother came from Plankinton, SD. Early in life, he considered a vocation to religious life. He professed as a brother (under temporary vows) after being with the Oblates of the Virgin Mary for 5 years in Boston, Mass. In discernment of a year, he did not renew his vows and returned to Denver. While in Colorado, he apprenticed with his father in the family’s accounting practice. When his father retired, he assumed the firm. He, on a happenstance, met Bishop Robert Carlson and was recruited for our Diocese. He was sent to continue his studies at Holy Apostles Seminary in Conn., where he received his professional degree in Theology. On the Feast of the Sacred Heart, Fr. Kevin was ordained as our priest in Sioux Falls on May 30, 2008, at St. Joseph Cathedral by Bishop Paul Swain. Fr. Kevin was assigned to Ss. Peter and Paul Parish in Pierre for 3 years. He is now appointed as pastor of St. Anthony’s Parish in Hoven and St. John the Baptist Parish in Onaka beginning October 1, 2011, where he continues to serve the northern deanery today.
