Vern Rausch called the
Monday, February 2, noon meeting to order at Kim’s Gift’s ’N More. Sue
presented the past minutes, which were approved by Bill Rader with a second by
Jay Duenwald. Royce Hackl presented the treasurer’s report. This
was approved by Tom Hackl with a second by Sue. Discussion was held on placing
the welcome banners back on the poles on Main Street and replacing any banners
or hardward if necessary. Royce reported on a catalog sale on Christmas
decoration and will look into ordering new pole decorations with approval from
the Service Club. Sue made a motion for Royce to purchase decorations
with a second by Carole Stoecker.
Jay Duenwald was present to
ask the Service Club for support in the welfare of the hospital. Charles
Simon made a motion with a second by Tom Hackl to have a resolution written and
approved of the clubs continued support of Holy Infant Hospital and
Clinic. This resolution will be posted on the Hoven Website. We
encourage all businesses to use our city webpage, www.hovensd.com. If
businesses have any part-time or full-time job positions open, call Tom Hackl
or a Service Club officer to have that listed.
Carole Stoecker stated that
the town of Tolstoy will be holding their Community Fund Drive on Saturday,
March 7. Watch the Review for advertising of time and place.
There are some
Quasquicentennial items still available. Prices on many items have been
reduced. Items are on sale at Vilas Drug, Kim’s Gift’s ’N More and a few
items at the Prairie Stop and at Dr. Garrity’s office.
The annual meeting and
Service Club Meeting was discussed. Letters will be going out to
promotional business and single memberships. Prices will remain as
follows: membership only $15.00, membership and one meal $25.00, membership and
two meals $35.00, organizational membership is $25.00. The Hospital
Auxiliary will again prepare and serve the meal on Saturday, March 28.
Social time begins at 6:00 p.m. with the meal being served at 6:45, meeting and
entertainment to follow. More details will be published in the Hoven
Review.
We remind all persons to
continue to view the Hoven website as new information is added weekly. We
encourage businesses and persons to use our site and call the Service Club
chairman if one wishes to update, change or advertise on the site. Our
next meeting will be Tuesday, March 3 at Boone’s Bar & Grill at noon.
