Duenwald Bros., Inc., is a diversified farming operation headquartering nine miles southwest of Hoven on land homesteaded by the current owners' grandparents, John and Agatha Duenwald. John's son Leo was the second generation to farm in that area. Currently, Jay and his wife Agnes and Bill and his wife Gloria are the farm's third generation. Jay and Agnes's son Eric and his wife Alicia are fourth generation farmers on the same land.
Duenwald farmers Jay and Bill and Eric Duenwald take time off from routine duties for pheasant hunting every October. Annually, they welcome home whoever can make it for the annual opening day pheasant hunt. In the background is the "home place," former home of first the John and Agatha Duenwald family and later the Leo and Frances Duenwald family.
